BARBARA MERTZ, estate      Barbara Mertz earned a PhD in Egyptology at the University of Chicago at the age of 23. She was a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of KMT (“A Modern Journal of Ancient Egypt”), the Egypt Exploration Society, and the James Henry Breasted Circle of the Oriental Institute. Her books on ancient Egypt have been continuously in print since 1964. Writing as BARBARA MICHAELS (mostly gothic and supernatural thrillers) and as ELIZABETH PETERS (mysteries), Barbara Mertz was a New York Times bestselling author. SISTER CAROL ANNE O’MARIE, estate      Sister Carol Anne O’Marie, a practicing nun in the Religious Congregation of the St. Joseph of Carondelet, ran a shelter for homeless women in San Francisco. She is renowned for her series of mysteries featuring the elderly Sister May Helen and her interfering friend, Sister Eileen.


SARA PARETSKY      New York Times bestselling author Sara Paretsky holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters from several universities. Named MS. MAGAZINE’s Woman of the Year, she is a Grand Master of the MWA and has been awarded the British Crime Writers Diamond Dagger award for lifetime achievement and the Gold Dagger award for best mystery of the year (for BLACKLIST). In 1986 she created Sisters in Crime (now a worldwide organization) to support women crime writers. V. I. ROBERT RANDISI      Under his own name and using pseudonyms Robert Randisi has written some 500 novels and edited more than 30 anthologies. He co-founded MYSTERY SCENE magazine, the American Crime Writers League, and the Private Eye Writers of America organization, for which he created the Shamus Award. Under his own name, Randisi is best known as a mystery writer. Under the name of

MICKEY SPILLANE, estate      Mickey Spillane and his iconic private eye, Mike Hammer, burst onto the literary scene in 1947 with the publication of I, THE JURY, changing the world of mystery novels irrevocably. More than 225 million copies of his books have been sold worldwide. Before he died, Mickey Spillane published 29 novels; the first seven were Mike Hammer novels.
